Abatuar's Vejación de la Bestia/Fosa Común is a compilation album put out by the fine folks at Dunkelheit Productions. This one man war metal outfit hails from the far away land of Panama and clocks in at just 22 minutes long. Vejacion is just a small sample of what this band can really do.

There is a decent amount of variation between ultra fast and mid to slow paced tempo tracks and although this was probably done to keep things fresh, it tends to make the album drag on a bit on repeat listens. Another huge drawback on this album would be the ridiculously long track names. It seems silly and gimmicky to have a song titled 'Huésped portador de muerte infecciosa por necrovirus membranoso prehistórico oculto en los glaciares de Beringia'. Who is going to remember that mouthful?

Other than the aforementioned, there is a lot to enjoy here. The vocals are downright terrifying and range from barks to mid tone growls to gutturals. The guitar tone is also very pleasing and, dare I say, brutal as fuck. There are plenty of good headbanging moments on Vejacion that more than make up for the bad ones.

If Revenge, Bolt Thrower and General Surgery (Necrology era!) had a baby together somehow, it would be Abatuar. Beware... Vejación de la Bestia/Fosa Común is not for the weak of heart! I most certainly look forward to anything released by Abatuar in the future.
