If the name of this band could be changed to be used as an action verb in the dictionary... it would mean to do something that is both amazingly original and very bloodthirsty devious at the same time. One listen to this so very unmerciful album of Fairytale Abuse... you just might write to ask the dictionary people to do just that.
Lightning fast rhythms beat the hell out of you, gravelly deep vocals and very complex arrangements from every part that recorded here then defines this amazing band from Denmark. Fairytale Abuse seems to not even use a standard Death Metal formula here, forging a twisted brand of Death Metal into a style that perhaps is almost at the fringes of being too progressive... yet it never crossed that barrier and stands proud and loud.
Songs like the maliciously savage 'Lust murder theatre' and the malevolently evil 'At the gates of thorns' shows the band has this well developed dark and highly twisted imagination that just accents amazing soundtrack that is their distorted and blood drenched mind. Each song seemed to have been crafted with great maliciousness but with this underlying sense of pure twisted storytelling as well.
In short, Fairytale Abuse show that you can have great articulation in the lyrics, ferocious yet intriguing music and a totally artistically warped mind and still end up having an album that entertains and horrifies even the staunchest of metalheads.
If you want to be abused musically as well as having demented nightmares afterwards... then thank Fairytale Abuse for a wish coming true.
