Sweden’s newest export calling themselves Kyrielle is strange sort of musical beast. On the one hand, they look like some sort of twisted pretty boy band on some really heavy trip ... but musically you could not get a more diverse of music jammed on to a CD if you tried to do it.

Musicallly speaking .. they span many ranges within metal and other styles of music as well. From seariously heavy Death Metal blasts, like we expect to get from Sweden, to giving us this odd bastard spawned styling of Red Hot Chili Peppers with some 80's inspired pop flavouring as well(??). This is one of those albums that confuse the living hell out of you for weeks to come.

You get a melting pot of rock.. and that speaks to the fact that perhaps this band that has not understood who they are yet in the bigger scheme of things... and don’t quite have a direction that they can call their own. It is like if Superman’s alter ego did not know who Super was... creates one hell of a problem.

Metal speaking, at times they are very good... but other times they just confuse the fucking hell out of me. Are they a metal band? Are they a screwed up pop... are they a bi-polar Nu-metal band that just cant get it together with their other halves? Damn if I know.... frankly damned if I care. The title track is the most metal of the songs, and is metal... too bad about the rest of it though.

They are great musicians that have the potential of being amazing sometime in the future... they might never become what I would call a great metalheads. Album is good for the mainstream of rock today(UGH) but metalheads may have a huge problem... and use the disk for shooting Skeet.
