Epic. Folk. Blackened Metal. If any of these words ring true to your taste, Kromlek’s "Finis Terrae" will be playing on your chosen audio machine multiple occasions.
Kromlek’s latest release on Trollzorn Records is rife with melody, no synth left behind! Honestly the burgundy-black album cover threw me off, I was expecting some core-tastic crap, but Kromlek’s sound really will appeal to anyone who’s attended Pagan Fest.
For the most part the album is what to expect from an upbeat folk metal band, but there’s some moments where the synth is downright sci-fi, listeners will make their own decisions on whether that’s fitting or not, but for this humble individual the awkward moments are part of the Folk Metal charm. When it comes to epic, you can never have enough trumpet or choir synth, Germany’s Kromlek is a perfect example of this. You will even get an epically adorable speech from a child, complete with single background guitar. Fans of Moonsorrow, Nomans Land, Thyrfing, Turisas, you will enjoy this.
