Review by Adam M on February 23, 2016.

This music is doom metal in the vein of Royal Thunder’s release from last year or Witch Mountain’s from the year before that. It has passionate vocals and a strong riff display from the guitarists.

The same sort of feel good vibe that Royal Thunder’s Crooked Doors possessed can be found here in all its glory. This leads to music that is very vibrant and colorful overall. The music is psychedelic, but also doomy in simultaneous fashion. It does have a classic rock feel to go along with the metal approach as well. The music here is not the most distinctive, but it is particularly well performed. The fact that it is similar to other music will be a detriment to some, however. This is unfortunate because there is some serious musical skill and talent on display here. Those looking for solid doom will certainly find solace in these heavy riffs. Those that thought Witch Mountain’s last effort was something phenomenal will especially find something to like here.

The problem here is that the music is too similar to the bands mentioned and doesn’t do enough to differentiate itself. Still, the instrumental and vocal performances are more than adequate for this type of music. Fuzzy and psychedelic riffs cascade over versatile vocals in fine fashion.

The guitar licks are catchy and memorable over their short life span. To your Death is indeed on the short side, but it gets its point across quite well. The combination of rock and metal into one genre is indeed enticing and the band gets this style across to the listener effectively. One will be head-banging for long portions of time to the rhythms on display. Let’s just hope the band tries something a tad more original on their next recording.
