What do you get when you take way out there art, then mangle it with blood splatter, sweat and the anger of many hideously tortured souls? You end up having the Austraillian band Oracle Of The Void
Death Metal meets Black Metal and then add in some Avant-garde art... Oracle seems to make that sort of statement as they combine the two, feed it with loads of caffeine and then unleashed it on a very unsuspecting and ill-equipped world. They are a granite wall of unrelenting drums blasting out, lightning fast and heavy guitars that pummel you mentally right down to your core while acid tinged vocals are delivered with the ferocity of a thousand carnivores at a huge kill. They are death personified.
From the opening of the album, these five members use religion from both sides and add in some mysticism to weave a tale that is both very inspiring and yet so abhorrent at the same time. Black is white, up is down, and questions arise on both sides... it is all there in a glorious tale that has been spun out of twisted knowledge and the mind that is seeing a universe that is thankfully not of our own.
They clearly define what it is to be completely uncompromising, never yielding to anyone on anything.. They remind me of the band called SICK
(on SpikeFarm Records) that I had reviewed quite awhile ago. They have the same demented qualities and artistic sort of leanings, only Oracle Of The Void
does it with the power of Black Metal.
