The Week In Metal - Week Of June 17 - 23, 2019

For a sunny summer day, there looks to be a lot of black metal on my list today! Going from raw as uncooked fish Azagthoth through Valaraukar, Goatskullt or Dizziness to more atmospheric realms presented by Eskapism and Abaroth you will definitely find a few hostile and filled with black metal aggression tunes, that would help you grow your inner demons and primal aspects of the subconscious. Monstrous and oppressive blackened death from Abyssal doesn't need my superfluous comments, but don't sleep on blasphemic self-titled debut from Itheist or new opus from veterans of death metal scene Memoriam.

Glare Of The Sun contrary to its name presents dark and gloomy sophomore monolith that should be checked by anyone finding joy in doom/sludge/post metal. You'll need some extra time to digest intricate new record from progressive Howling Sycamore, but in case jazz elements make you want to break things, Skelator and Lunar Shadow will be more than happy if you just raise your fists and keep rocking to the galloping riffs of heavy metal. But wait, there's more, a lot more…
