The tenth (!) release by this reputed Austrian black metal trio. The famed vocalist Silenius (Summoning, Kreuzweg Ost) is replaced by a new singer whose black metal voice sounds exactly the same. The only original member left is the leader Peter K.

"Satanized" turns out to be a somewhat experimental album; lots of studio effects and synths are used, which work as a huge advantage to the monotonous songs. Most of the album sounds exactly the same: barely audible thin-sounding, layered guitar melodies played over complex-as-hell drumming and buried under indiscernible, annoying black metal singing, which is often altered by studio effects to make it seem more diverse, but ends up sounding cheesy.

Every song is pretty much the same and very boring to listen to without reading the lyrics from the booklet, and even then I noticed that the lyrics don't fit them music well at all. It seems like they wrote the lyrics and the music totally separate, and then just crammed them together. The lyrics themselves seem like a bunch of nonsense about space and Satan, and they even copy three lines from a Slayer song on "Repulsor".

But it's not all bad, many songs have very cool, albeit short, parts with lots of synth and a very nice beat. But, as I mentioned, these are too few and too short. The only thing that keeps me listening to this CD is anticipating the cool parts, and there are simply not enough of them. I'm quite disappointed, from the guys that gave us "Verwustung" and "Nachthymnen", this release is downright horrible.

Bottom Line: Oh! What...? mm, Bottom Line? Damn, must've fallen asleep...
