Crossover music can be great, Metal and Punk can be amazing if done right by the right people. I remember hearing DRI for the first time... that was some of the best music I had ever seen then or now (I am still a fan of DRI). Let us see just what this New York based band has to offer us today?

Seizure Crypt can be described as a standard New York City hardcore band with a small fraction of Thrash Metal leanings to their music. It is true that they do make a hell of a lot of noise that thunders out of the speakers at you, and their sense of humour is pretty lowbrow even for most... but the big question I have to answer is: are they any good?

Quite honestly... No! What rumbled out of the speakers for me is a horrible, thrown together collection of badly off tempo hardcore stereotyped bullshit that seemed to be all one big song, even to the trained ear. There was no real change between any tracks throughout the disk. I did really like the humour for awhile...but it got old real fast. It is like your sisters cooking... you try to be polite to her, but the reality is that she is a lousy cook and you want to puke on the carpet..

I was into hardcore back when hardcore punk was hardcore (Dead Kennedys, Circle Jerks, Black Flag, Splattered Bodies, ect). Seizure Crypt is just a very sadly transparent reflection of that grand point in music history... and it seems like the only ones that do not know it is the band themselves. I think they need to do different jobs rather than music... preferably with the phrase 'Do you want fries with that?' in the job description.
