Downey, California seems to have brought the metallic masses of the world a gem in the making. Scarred is a self described Progressive Metal band... and I agree with their self-assessment to a point, because they forgot one critical tad of information in their bio... they happen to be one of the best unsigned acts that is out there.

Scarred does have some major progressive leanings, thanks due to that they are some of the finest musicians out there. They are so deliciously heavy which just helps out the fact that they can craft a great song and still kick your ass. One listen to the track ‘Rise Like The Sun’, and you will agree. They are progressive as any band alive, yet you can still hear that they still are devotees of the art of Classic Metal as well which they use to create something that makes me drool for more.

There is only one little draw back for the boys of Scarred is that this is a five song EP they have laid out to the metallic masses because it just makes you hunger for more due to the wicked combination of great musicianship, and some of the most amazing killer recording values that are normally for more established acts. The fact that they have the potential to be one of the top metal bands anywhere, just makes them slide into being good and dangerous as well.

I only have one question for the readers here as I am finishing up this review... and it is a simple one such as if I was asked if I wanted a cold beer on a hot day. The question is: Do ya wanna get Scarred, or not? I wanna get scarred up... and scarred up bad!
