It is no secret that I am a lover of everything NWOBHM. It is where my love of metal first came from, and continues to. I love it when a band picks up this metallic torch, and begins to show their own take on a classic sort of sound and then runs with it like hell. That to me is pretty much heaven.

Night Bitch is a band that hails from Connecticut, USA who plays what could be described as old school Doom Metal in the NWOBHM style, meaning it is slow, but not as slow as most in the genre. It reminds me of metal legends Angel Witch on downers with some Black Sabbath tendencies. Simply put they have straight ahead melodies with massive riffs that sends the whole album into overdrive.

This is one of the strongest EP’s I have heard in awhile. Out of the five massively good songs, it is the title track ('Sex And Magic') that makes me smile. I love hearing the heavy Ozzy/Sabbath inspired riffs that seemed to be spiced with smatterings of Angel Witch mixed with some old school Danzig. With a little tweaking and continuing to explore their songs this band could become a worldwide metalheads favorite.

The are on the right path, yet they need to not rely so heavily on their influences, but use them to make themselves from really good to fuckin’ amazing. They are so damned close that it wont take much. I realy like Night Bitch and now I want to take the next step and be in love with it - and that wont take too much, if the band develops like I think they will.
