Humour is one trait of humanity that is universal. It connects people and is a shared joy for all no matter who or where they are. Humour in metal is not an uncommon thing, and the combination has been golden (look at Italy’s Nanowar Of Steel for a good example). We have for your enjoyment the most irreverent, rude yet quite thought provoking act ever in metal... Primary Colors.
Mixing some impressive Death/Grind/Hardcore/Extreme Metal with a very warped sense of humour that touches on socially deranged at times, this Floridian band of four opens your eyes to things. Never ever are they even in the least subtle or do they mince any words, this band blasts you with what I see as true extremism in its purest and base form set to a metallic anarchism backdrop.
I nearly pissed myself laughing several times, as I went through the album’s fourteen songs. Sadi Thakur (Lead Vocals) black humour shines through everywhere, even though his vocal talent is pretty much average compare to the good musicianship of the other three. One listen to the guffaw inducing 'Aliens Smoke Weed' to the belly laugh-gotta-pee-so-badly song 'Black Metal' - all of their songs shows a mind that is as equally sharp as it is so calculatingly twisted.
This act is not for the squeamish or the closed minded... it is smart, intuitive, very irreverent and over-the-top chaotic. Primary Colors are in a category by themselves, and yet all metalheads might get something out of them if they allow it. Genius does not follow a certain formula or does not shy away - this band is the poster children for irreverence and derision everywhere.
