Calgary Canada seems to be growing into a renowned place for the growth and expansion of Canadian Metal, and is a magnet for the people who love metal in all of its glorious forms. False Flag (not the horrible Punk Metal outfit based in Florida) comes at you with both guns blazing with rage while they have the flag of metal held high and proud as they do so.

Straight ahead Death Metal meets balls out thrash and all of this in a spectacular three piece. The band has not re-invented anything here, but has made some very explosive metal that seems to have been made by a much larger and experienced band – which adds to the mystique that this act has developed for themselves. They have certainly given the Metal community as a whole a reason to be talking about them.

With four strong and very aggressive tracks offered, I can’t choose just one. All of the songs here are strong and yet so raw and acrid and yet has this huge dose of melody that seems to make all of the songs flow into your mind. Reminds me of Motorhead, slower Celtic Frost and Coroner mixed with some hinting of Canadian act SFH added in at times – powerful, slowed and killer heavy.

I loved this EP for the brute power and explosive riffs. I’m truly hooked on the sheer amount of talent delivered. Yep, I am a False Flag fan now… they didn’t need to be Malmsteen complex or commercially devoid to get ahead – they are who they are, and will do so as they plot global metal domination.

Fuck… they might just do that. False metal needs to run away, or False Flag will stomp ya to hell!!
