Some bands just don't give a crap about what's trending, new or post-.... insert your favorite genre here. One of them is Gluttony and I love them for it, in a very manly kind of way of course. Our dead corps fanatics were born (or reborn) in 2009 and after demo and Eaten Alive EP they unleashed their full-length debut Beyond The Veil Of Flesh and, like zombies, brought back the past.

So, if you didn't figureed it out already, what we have here is an old school Swedish death metal with zombies and gore lyrical themes delivered on a modern production platter. Straight in your face pounding brings back memories of full room mosh-pits, sea of head-banging kids simply having fun, feeling every drum kick and honest sincere riff. Try that with you post-crap. Oh, I forgot that as name suggests, post, is not even metal anymore, so no fun. Sorry, got a little bit off topic here. Let's get back to Gluttony. With sound heavily rooted in early 90's era of Swedish death metal, nothing on this record is really a surprise or groundbreaking moment, but I'm sure it wasn't meant to be to start with. Beyond The Veil Of Flesh is about pure emotions and primitive attitude while swimming in the pool of blood and slowly putrefying intestines. But don't think for a moment that since it was done before - that anything here is monotone or dull. You'll crawl, fall and than run again, you'll vomit and then get hungry, and if that sounds like something you enjoy doing on daily basis - this record is for you. If only they included some piercing solos to top this pile of rotten feces, I'd be completely zombified.
