I waited for the successor of It Rains, It Pours with hope and fear and after 3 years it finally happened. We Had It Coming placed an eight-song wall of death metal in front of the listener. Just as before, mixing and mastering was done by Pawel "Janos" Grabowski, and band themselves took care of releasing the album. Graphics are work of Kuba Sokólski.
The music packed into this digipak attacks one's hearing organs with ultra fast death metal. If you have heard their debut, then you already know what I'm talking about, if not, we have a slight problem. Death metal played by the Dormant Ordeal is so obviously unobvious that associations oscillate from early Decapitated, Ulcerate, Immolation to Behemoth from the times of Demigod. Does throwing some names out there make any sense? Not at all! More appropriate solution is to get the music of Dormant Ordeal. Let it speak with strength, quality, complexity of simplicity and simplicity of complexity.
Technical death metal does not speak to everyone, but the one played by Dormant Ordeal has the advantage of not focusing on amplifying complexities. Technique was harnessed on here to construct skyscrapers of energy. After pressing the magic triangle with the word PLAY on it you're gonna get such a beating that either your family will have to scrape you off the floor, or you can allow yourself to get kidnapped by the cyclone of sounds and take that same beating over and over again. I have to admit that the studying of We Had It Coming brings new experiences every time. Although second album does not have a superior piece which 'Here Be Lions' was for It Rains, It Pours, I cannot say that it is worse in any way. The first listening session placed such the suggestion, however, subsequent attempts allowed my ears to enjoy and explore all the levels of somewhat camouflaged melody.
To sum it up - excellent album and it's such a shame that no big publisher noticed the power of the band which would allow the band to gain new fans. Since planned for the autumn tour failed, once again I'll have to wait a bit for a concert to verify the strength of this Cracow quartet. They've managed to put a step forward, so I shall remain patient.
