This is a stellar album that is one of the band’sbest and shows the evolution of the band at its maximum.  There is a more subded flavour to the work and it is a very atmospheric entry to the genre.  Though not as immediately crushing as Oceanic, it reveals itself over several spins  and stands out as a highlight of the band’s discography.

The musicianship is highly compelling and features a weighty feeling to it.  There is a very strong undercurrent of heaviness to the songs and the heavy riffage is distinctive and interesting.  The vocals are powerful as is the drumming.  The entire experience is quite resonant and bolstered by solid production values.

If there is a flaw to be found it;s in how the band does not improve greatly on their revoluntioary Oceanic, but instead reveals itself to be a more concentrated listen that requires time and patience to appreciate.  It has depth and is a very immersive experience.  It is quite the pleasant listen and a high point in the band’s discography.

In summary, Isis had thesmelves a winner with this work and it is a very strong musical experience that is quite immersive.  The entire thing flows niocely and is one of the more listenable albumss you’ll find.  It is a very creative work that is quite deeo and one you shall want to return to again and again.
