This is a more relaxed view of what Solstafir is capable of pulling off. We can sense that the band had been gradually building up to this point and they were able to craft a subtle album that fit into their discography nicely. It is one of the more emotional albums of the band and has many high points throughout.

The musicianship is solid with clean guitars that have a lot of emotion and vocals that are very vibrant and colorful. The music is subtle and accompanied by a musical performance that is likewise chill and at the same time very vibrant. The musical performances make the album more powerful and give it character.

The flaw to the album is that it is not as interesting as something like Otta and loses something in the way it is more gently represented. That album was more progressive and interesting and a highlight of the band’s discography, while this is merely the chill album they had been aiming not something they had been aspiring to from a quality standpoint.

All in all, this album was a nice diversion and a solid soft entry into the band’s discography. While it is not as powerful as something like Otta, the music here is creative enough to have an impact and has the same Icelandic feel as the rest of their material. It is mostly a success and should be heard by all.

This album shows the band releasing a more subtle and subdued listen.  There is certainly a very chill flavor to what is to be found here.  The music is very atmospheric and will have a huge impact upon you.  There is very little that has changed with the band, but this is an important album because the one following it would be less interesting.

The musicianship is solid as usual and the instruments are able to shine through and have an ability to make their mark.  There is a very subdued feeling here and this makes the work very unique and special.  There is not a huge difference to what they had been previously doing and this makes the album sound a bit redundant even though it is nicely produced.

The problem with the disc lies in its inability to innovate which makes it less interesting than other works like Otta, for example.  There is a great amount of nostalgia as seen with the work because it has a very familiar feeling to it.  This is certainly a welcome addition to the band’s discography.

Overall, this was a very solid album with a subtle feel.  It was one of the more calm albums the band has done.  It is very subdued and will make its mark over time.  There are plenty of strong moments on the album that will enrapture you.  This is still one of the best albums by the band and highly worth listening to.
