The Primordial Dawn is upon us! As Malgöth has released their debut EP via Iron Bonehead Productions and it is a beast of pure, unadulterated black death!

With a small atmospheric intro, we are treated to the beast that is Malgöth. Inhuman growls, raw heavy guitar and bass, topped with pummeling drums are all served in bombastic amount to crush your being. It is evidently noticeable that the band is inspired by bands such as Blasphemy, as their raw approach to black/death is unapologetic and frenzied. Despite this, the music has more than enough clarity to perceive the great riffage and melodies thrown here and there. The same can be said for every other instrument, perfectly audible yet with that raw touch characteristic of this style in particular.

The vocals are just great, with an equal balance of growls and shrieks, and not to mention an even lower growl that appears at moments, which may remind some people of the low vocals done in Revenge's "Infiltration.Downfall.Death". These vocals are seriously well made and even terrifying at moments.

Overall, there's is not much to say here. The production is more than perfect for this style in particular. No instrument drowns another, and it is all very well balanced. It may not reach the perfection achieved by Teitanblood's "Death" (and nothing will, honestly) but it is a great EP nonetheless. A bit short though, with 4 tracks and less than 18 minutes of runtime, it does leave you desiring for more.

And we can only hope they do give us more, as this is a great record and one of my new favorite releases.
