Are you ready for this!? Hold on tight…cause you are about to enter the twisted and sinister world of Darkane. The best way of decribing this band would be to picture a Swedish Death Metal version of Strapping Young Lad and mix in a little bit of Meshuggah for good measure. The material is propelled here by excellent musicianship where every member excells at his instrument. This is without a doubt one of the most impressive debuts by an metal band I have ever heard period. What makes this even more amazing is the fact that the group was only together no more than seven months before this album was recorded.

The production is flawless and the music is delivered with nonstop intensity. Peter Wildoer stands as one of the most unique metal drummers on the planet and on this release his style and playing seems at times unimaginable and inhuman. The vocalist, Lawrance Mackrory, must also be commended for his work, being that he was asked into the band right when they got ready to record. This man can do it all and he manages to deliver one of best vocal performances of 1999! It is safe to say that Darkane has arrived and that they are here to stay.

Bottom Line: I am not kidding. Seek this cd out and buy it at once if you know what's good for you!
