This is a good album that has the right characteristics for a very heavy listen.  It is a very raucous and crushing release that has all the aspects of a fun listen for the band.  There are cascading riffs and a strong presence that is difficult to match.

The musicianship is very good and has a lot of heavy crushing portions and other parts that are perhaps not as heavy at times.  The album is generally fast paced and has a very determined aspect to it.  There is a lot of harsh vocals and guitars and this is an enjoyable listen.

The problem with the album is that it is not a great improvement on Effigy of the Forgotten.  It is still more of the same and does not have an interesting aspect that makes it a great improvement on that album.  Still, it is a very punishing and excellent album.

The overall viewpoint I’m having with the album is that it is a great album and has the crushing aspects of a great one as well. It is not as revolutionary as Effigy of the Forgotten, but still very interesting and essential as a death metal experience.
