Among the newest additions to the roster of UK label Demented Omen of Masochism, we have new blood in the form of a Polish blackened death metal band Inhumanization, which recently made their baptism by fire by releasing their debut self-titled EP Inhumanization on September 1st, 2024. Knowing that this label usually provides some incredibly solid artists, I was actually curious to see if there is any potential in this misanthropic steel-jawed beast. Let’s find out, shall we?

As the war commences with 'March Of The Burnt Spirits', with the militant rhythm setting up the dark mood in the battlefield, it’s only a calm before a heavy bullet storm that strikes hard like a steadfast minigun unloading its ammo, taking no prisoners whatsoever and mercilessly annihilating everything that stands in its way. What you can expect from a band such as Inhumanization is a real monster of a band that just doesn’t mess around while constantly unleashing all hell with its maniacal tremolo riffs and blast beats, nicely backed up with the guttural screaming vocals of PanzerSpekktr. If you can imagine something that combines elements of bands like Vader, Infernal War, Marduk, Infest, Bolt Thrower, and Cannibal Corpse, you pretty much get a relatively close description of this monstrosity, but it’s really something you should see for yourself to get the best impression possible, because underneath that rubble you will probably discover more brutal and heavy stuff that reminds you of certain extreme metal bands. Their EP only manages to go even further down the dangerous road ahead with every following track, where you get the real taste of madness with the bestial third track 'Cold Steel Jaws' that eats shrapnel for breakfast and spits it out in your face like a real badass. Even though it’s got a total of five tracks, it really manages to keep it strong all the way through, even when dropping the atomic bomb on the final track 'Iron Omnivore', putting this chapter to an end.

The songwriting is pretty simple and straightforward as it is with many blackened death metal bands, but the great thing is that it successfully keeps things interesting from start to finish without dropping its balls for a second. I guess you could say that Inhumanization is trying their best to provide entertainment through simplicity, with just enough work that will make you want to crave for more action once you reach the conclusion of this EP. No matter how short this experience seems, it is quite satisfying and delightful, especially if you are hungry and desperate for something so furious and fueled with anger. This EP really is made for extreme people who like even more extreme music, because it truly makes you want to bang your head so hard and punch a hole in the wall, and that’s the exact feeling that I got from the very get-go. The only small issue that I have about this EP is the sound production, which despite its solid execution still sounds a tad bit too thin for something as heavy as this because Inhumanization’s music really deserves something more metallic and punchy to really give their performance some blood and iron.

If you want some cruel firepower of Polish blackened death metal, the debut EP of Inhumanization is exactly what you are looking for. I must say that this is a solid start that makes me curious to see how it can be expanded even more in the near future, especially if a full-length album is currently in the works. No matter what, I am sure that these guys will continue to kick ass and deliver more bullet storms in the years to come. If you ever come across this album, make sure you check it out because it’s a killer.
