Deadspeak is a force from Poland that has probably, or hopefully, not yet reached its full potential. Of course, a two track release does not provide complete information about the skills and competences of a band. But "No Respect… Neither For Living Nor For The Dead" (wow, the title is almost longer than the entire output, haha) leaves no doubt that these dudes have inhaled the spirit of extreme metal. Death thrash with grindcore-like Napalm Death influences bursts out of the boxes. It quickly becomes clear that the duo does not lack courage, vehemence and aggression. The title track raises hell in a matter of seconds and despite its mega-brutal setting, there is still room for a few guitar tones which create something similar to melodies. Nevertheless, don't worry. Mostly the six strings grind, howl and crush, while the pretty unnatural voice constantly utters curses. This is no massacre of the highest quality, but the song makes (quite cruel) fun and reflects the band's remarkably high level of energy.

Pressure, directness, heaviness – these words come to my mind about production. All instruments come into their own, even the bass guitar, often treated like a stepchild when it comes to metal albums, sets accents. Generally speaking, all songs can only profit from such a mix and so does "Soul-o-Suction". Its another relentless, furious and lethal attack, but once more Deadspeak have managed to integrate a few breaks which give the already severely wounded listener the chance to take a short breath. And yes, especially the comparatively – but not in objective terms – calm parts can fully convince. But all in all, a little weakness remains. The songs do not show the clearest contours. Maybe this is because of the style the band prefers and it is no objective disadvantage. However, my simple mind would be happy if the dudes would focus a bit more on comprehensible structures. Moreover, death thrash is not the sub-genre I like most. Never mind. Deadspeak is a band that dishes up a very spicy, very heavy and very hot meal for all those who like it raw and dirty. Take it or leave it.
