This new album features a very melodic style that is perhaps the culmination of their past and is quite powerful with its presence.  This is one of the better albums of the style of recent times and certainly makes its impact felt.  There is a very melodious and atmospheric element to the music that makes it compelling.

The musical performances are very solid with great guitar playing and appropriately aggressive vocals. The entire thing ends up being a very theatrical and entertaining type of platter that is one of the better albums of the genre in recent times.  You’ll find it quite emotional and a very rewarding experience.

If there is a flaw to the experience, it is in how it does not surpass the best works of the band Dark Tranquillity for example and merely ends up being another great album in the genre instead of truly revolutionary.  There is nothing wrong with the album, but it could use a little bit more innovation.

All in all, this was a very solid album that has all the ingredients to be a leader in the genre with great song-writing and lots of melody.  It is certainly an interesting and colourful work that is thoughtful and catchy at the same time.  Fans of the Mors Principium Est’s previous material will certainly find something to like here.
