Review by Adam M on June 17, 2026.

This is a good album that has remnants of old material along with a new sound that is cutting edge and interesting.  This is a very strong album that has all the right ingredients to be a classic in the making with innovative songs and an interesting aura.  There aren’t as many breathtaking moments as before, but this is still innovative and thoughtful stuff.

The musicianship is stellar with strong performances and a keen ear for making epic sounds.  This is not as emotionally poignant as A Sun That Never Sets or The Eye of Every Storm, but still a very thoughtful and interesting experience.  The singing is classy and the instruments are quite breathtaking.

The problem I am having with this disc lies in how it is not as good as a couple of their albums.  The breathtaking moments are there, but not as compelling as previously.  This shows the band is starting to become generic, even though they are still crafting a number of thoughtful and dynamic moods.  It is still a good album and well worth listening to.

The general flow of the album is good and there are a lot of thoughtful moments to be found.  This is still not as compelling as a couple of their other works and loses points because it is trying to be all-encompassing and only ends up being somewhat gripping.  This is still a strong work and fans of the band will dig it.
