Review by JD on April 10, 2009.

It is said that a band will come around that will make your head spin and your heart to beat fast as hell... and all in a good way. Forever Mourning is such a band, and they have arrived!.

Playing some of the most fierce and very driven Death Metal, this band made up of two people (Erin Ettinger and Ryan Chihote) play some of the most monstrously heavy music around. They explode off of the album, and create something that is a thing of blood soaked beauty wrapped up in barbed wire.

Songs like 'The Trilogy - Embodiment Of Sorrow' (tracks 2,3 and 4 make up 'The Trilogy - Embodiment Of Sorrow') and the nailing malicious 'Innocence Fades' are examples of where talent meets disk. It is, in my view, a Death Metal album that is a solid representation of the style. Forever Mourning is not making any new ground, but they really have perfected the style to a level that all can accept.

As a duo, these guys certainly do rock hard and good handling all of the instruments like a well oiled machine. The only draw back I can come up with is that they probably used PRO-TOOLS to make their album. For me, using PRO-TOOLS has always sounded way too tinny sounding for my liking (I was trained in analog recording) but that is a the only real critique I can give.

In all, the album is a very good one and must be in anyone's collection.
