Review by JD on March 27, 2010.

Neo-classical Metal meeting Old School headbanging with an added touch of progressiveness added in for good measures with a bucketload of strong metal values... a long explanation for a band that is pretty much a interesting sort of metal beast. Forcentury is a leading force of this now reestablishing style that has come out since the appearance of Trivium, and I happen to agree.

With sweeping music that has the perfect blending of heavy, pin-point rapid fire guitars that soar like an eagle on an updraft, it is kind of hard not to respect and admire a band that can do all of this and so well with a freshness that is so welcoming. They seemed to have found the right balancing between heavy, technical, heart and power. I have not gotten goosebumps like this since I heard a now well known band way back... called Slayer.

Just listen to the sweeping explosiveness of 'Through The Eyes Of Thunder' or to the down to earth majesticness of 'The Abyss'... you can hear the talent. Each song seems to have a life and energy that is truly all of it’s own, that sort of life is as distinctive as fingerprints - a feat that only a handful of bands have ever had the good fortune of being able to do.

They may not be anywhere near originators in terms of metal, but they are a band that makes you realize that true Old School Metal is not even close to being dead... it is alive and well in the hearts of all of us leather clad people and those who just make it there passion through their own writings. Forcentury make the old school way of making metal seem more vibrant and alive than it has been in years, and I for one love that.

Raise the horns and a beer on high... this band is the real McCoy. Metal is back!!!
