Italy’s got to be one of my favourite places for the development and writing of metal at the moment. This boot shaped country seems to be having many bands coming out with some pretty brutal yet amazing metal that shows a different side the music we all love... something that is nasty good but still familiar at the same time. Enter now the band known as Homicide Hagridden... a hidden metal jewel that has now appeared top show its brilliance to the metal world at hand.

Old school styled Thrash has really returned with a vengeance it seems, and judging from what these Itallian metal freaks have assaulted the world with - I see they will be at the head of the pack. Matching there amazing talent on the instruments they use, there is this not so subtle Social Commentary sort of tilt to them... a mark of a band that actually thinks as hard as they play. Homicide Hagridden are clearly as intelligent as their level of talent... a feat that only a rare collection of bands can boast of. Slashing guitars and tight break-neck rhythms mixing with such interesting lyrics get your attention, and makes sure many take note. With only three tracks (totalling just a little over 13 minutes) the promo is sort of a tease, but one that is so good to have. They hit you hard on so many levels, and that is why it leaves you wanting to hear more and more... a tactic that makes sure that the true fan keeps an eye out for the next release.

I for one, am looking forward to hearing the next one, while hunting down the other demos (and one full length out on a small label) to quench my thirst for good thrash. I want to see them out on a proper label with the right amount of promo... they could be the next Metallica... as long as they don’t hire Bob Rock(DOH!). They are just the band to show Metallica how to thrash again.
