I have always said that Canada has some of the finest unknown metal bands in the world. I have said that until I am blue in the face, and my throat was dry (and it is not just because I am Canadian), I just have seen so many bands but Canadian acts seem to have a little something more to offer. Interested in the act that I have for you? Good. Here is my pick for surprise of the year Unleash The Archers.

Hailing from the west coast of Canada (British Columbia to be exact), comes a explosive act that just might be the one to finally get the world to look at Canadian Metal with way more respect. Sounding like Nightwish that has more talent and better vocals, the five piece act is a powerhouse of excellent musician powered by one of the best female vocalists in the metal, the shining metallic star Brittney Hayes, and backed up with the most amazing Death Metal vocals from Brayden Dyczkowski(Guitar/Vocals).

Songs like the melodic infused crushing power of 'Dawn Of Ages' and the aggressive punch of 'Battle In The Shadows (Of Mountains)' shows a young band that is so far ahead of the pack in the Power Metal race that they eclipse all other bands that are right now sorrowfully following them in all categories. They are already a band that is one to look out for, and one that just shines with class and strength.

In the Canadian metal scene, there is not another band that needs to be supported and exalted like this. They need to get a real good record contract from some label that knows metal and then taking the step of just letting them get better in their own good time. Unleash The Archers could be the next big thing, and I mean the next big thing on a global scale. With quality metal such as this, Unleash The Archers are a force that will make a huge impact really quick.
