Review by Adam M on August 23, 2025.

This was a fun album that really lit the fire for Anthrax and gave them a memorable offering. It is in line with the classic Bay Area albums and certainly of the most powerful thrash albums around. It is a nice display of memorable songs that never fails to brag attention and be exciting. In an era of fun albums this is one of the more enjoyable romps of the time.

The musicianship is valid with good guitar playing, drumming and a strong vocal performance by Joey Belladona that lifts up the recording. It is totally the best album he has performed on and this bolsters the strong sound of the album. The entirety of the songwriting comes together in fine fashion.

The flaw with the music is in how it does not equal the epic nature of Master of Puppets and comes up a bit hollow sounding in comparison. It s not a refined as some of the greatest albums of the genre like Reign in Blood. This makes the work a bit generic compared to some of its brethren, but still very strong.

All in all, this is another excellent album by the band and probably the best Belladona album and possibly their best overall. It is fun and has memorable songs like "Indians” that really contribute to making this a memorable outing.
