Review by Adam M on August 20, 2026.

This was a fun album that introduced a more interesting style to the band that was distinctly progressive in nature.  There is a need for the band to become more thoughtful and interesting and this results in a very nifty and thoughtful listen.  There is very little to dislike with this album as it is the band at their absolute peak.

The musicianship the band shows is great and has them being thoughtful and innovative at the same time.  Though the production is only decent, there is a lot to like in terms of the performances of the band and they have an innovative approach that is interesting and has great guitar playing and vocal performances.

The problem with the album is that they would perhaps be even more refined on their next one Angel Rat and that there is possibly a loss of some of their earlier thrash elements.  This is still their most well-rounded album and a great one at that.  There is little to flaw with the music here.

The overall feeling I’m having with the album is that it is not only the band’s best, but an important and influential album for the genre.  Fans of the band’s other material will like it as will those looking for an interesting listen.  This is a very convenient and neat album that has the proper ingredients to fascinate the listener.
