Being impressed is getting harder to come by these days for me. I always look for those golden bands that really do knock my socks off, but that sort of reaction comes around fewer and fewer times now. Greece’s Septic Flesh has impressed me on a few occasions - now with hearing their 2008 release "Communion"... I find myself smiling.

Under the heading of Atmospheric Death Metal Septic Flesh is a perfect band for just such a term. With unmistakeable quality of having such a brutal sound that is infused with such a huge amounts of pure talent and a mound of energy as well this Greeks will not be ignored or looked over. Reminding me sort of Cradle Of Filth but having the explosive dynamic of Cannibal Corpse - the band certainly has the might.

Songs like the ruthless riffing of 'Anubis' to the all out aggression fuelled of 'We, The Gods' showcase so very clear the massive amounts of that talent that Septic Flesh sports. This band is progressive as any out there, but they are fortified with this ceratin power that not many matches. They are pure musicians playing some of the most gigantic sounding Death Metal.

I always say that talent cannot be ever ignored, no matter what the medium is. Septic Flesh is a band that clearly makes that point so obvious, yet still gets overlooked. With Style, Aggression, Speed, Heavy and 100% Attitude, these guys are a metal fans ultimate dream, and the world needs to get septic, and enjoy the flesh.
