Today, in cooperation with Edged Circle Productions, we are thrilled to present a brand new single 'Fearful Quandary' from DARKENED upcoming album, The Black Winter, out May 27th, 2022 on CD and vinyl LP formats.

The new single 'Fearful Quandary' is a very dark and gloomy track. Starting with a very desperate intro, the track turns into a very catchy mid-tempo death metal stomper. In 'Fearful Quandary' sheer aggression meets absolute desperation. Vocalist Gord Olson says about the track that: "A lot of Darkened's lyrics are inspired by the horrors of reality; Fearful Quandary was written from the perspective of someone close to me, who was damaged very severely by medical drugs. Sort of a "the cure was the poison" scenario. It basically is about floating in the space between life and death, between wanting to kill, and wanting to die."

Was the band more similar to Bolt Thrower on their first releases, they stepped out of this huge shadow to take their own path. It's more melodic, more epic but still brutal as fuck. The second single from their upcoming album The Black Winter is a stunning appetizer and makes you want the time goes by fast until the released date. The album was produced and mastered by Dan Swanö, and the cover was created by Juanjo Castellano.
