Thailand is the last place I think of when I hear the words 'Power Metal'; usually a place of more symphonic/gothic/black metal but here is one of those instances we find the odd occurrence of this existence. The band in question is ANGEL VENGEANCE; their latest single 'Open Your Eyes' is an eager attempt at the genre with all the stereotypes associated with the style accounted for. Soaring vocals, thrashing double bass drumming, heaps of guitars and empowering lyrics, undeniably power metal.

Slower moments appear on the mid section that gradually returns to faster, less restrained melodies compliments of the string work which seems to be the main highlight on the single and the vocals, though not the best, do a decent job on 'Open Your Eyes'. The single's mastering gives it a bit of full-length appeal while still maintaining an organic sound. Therefore, being 7 minutes long and not too shabby, something of the sort may come to fruition. ANGEL VENGEANCE has some potential; it's interesting to see where they go from here and how it's all received by local and overseas listeners/fans.
