MB Premiere: HAGEL - 'Blindness'

Creepy black/doom metal from Mexico; damn I'm having flashbacks of Mystifier and Necromantia. Though not as potent as records put out by the night-time legends but I can appreciate what HAGEL is doing on their first full-length offering, "Veneration of the Black Light".
Their preview track 'Blindness' belongs to 1992-1996. The synth!!!, damn it they nailed the sound I was hoping they would have and the vocals don't get in the way. Good pacing, momentum shifts, and an atmosphere dripping with dread. It's looking to be a must own for the year and hopefully it comes out on vinyl soon.

HAGEL's long-awaited debut album, "Veneration of the Black Light", will be released by Personal Records on May 21st, 2021.
HAGEL is:
Carlos Velázquez - guitar
Juan Reyes - drums
Elizabeth Castillo - bass
Ivan Saldaña - guitar/vocals
Luis Galindo - keyboards
