On October 23rd, 2026, Dying Victims Productions brings together two of the most ferocious names in contemporary thrash metal for a special split release titled "Bloodsurge". Available on CD and 12" vinyl, this mini-album unites Finland's DET with Chilean maniacs CRITICAL DEFIANCE, with the release timed to coincide with their joint European tour this autumn.

CRITICAL DEFIANCE brings three new compositions, accompanied by the acoustic instrumental "Will Of Steel." The Chileans waste no time getting straight to the point, unleashing their trademark razor-sharp thrash attack with the kind of speed and aggression that has become their trademark. At the same time, the new material allows them to explore some darker and more extreme territory, while incorporating technical passages and unexpected acoustic contrasts without sacrificing the sheer violence of their approach.

With two radically energetic bands representing opposite ends of the European and South American underground, "Bloodsurge" promises to be equally devastating on record and on stage. DET and CRITICAL DEFIANCE may come from different corners of the world, but when it comes to delivering uncompromising thrash, they clearly speak the same language.
